The Volunteer Attorney Program of New Mexico Legal Aid is set to host a free legal fair in Santa Fe on Saturday, providing much-needed assistance to individuals and families in need. The event will take place at the Hotel Glorieta, located at 750 N. St. Francis Drive, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This initiative aims to offer legal help to individuals whose income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty level, provided they also meet specific asset limits. Attendees will find lawyers available to assist with a variety of legal matters. Areas of focus include family law, such as divorce, custody, and child support, as well as landlord/tenant issues, debtor/creditor disputes, wills, contracts, employment law, and unemployment benefits.
Legal assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, ensuring that those who arrive early will receive help. The fair will accommodate both English and Spanish speakers, making it accessible to a broader community.
