Robert P. “Bob” Briere, aged 67, passed away on February 1, 2026, after a valiant battle with cancer. Surrounded by his family, he fought his illness with remarkable strength. A lifelong resident of Lowell, Massachusetts, Bob was born on October 7, 1958, to the late Henry and Lillian (Boutin) Briere.
Bob was known for his deep passion for sports, particularly his loyalty to New England teams. His extensive collection of baseball cards, which he amassed over several decades, was a point of pride and joy for him. Friends and family often benefited from his vast sports knowledge, as he delighted in sharing stories and insights about the games he loved.
Prior to his retirement, Bob worked as a machine operator for Sonoco Products. His professional life was marked by dedication and hard work, attributes that also defined his personal life.
Survived by his sister, Pauline M. Briere, and a sister-in-law, Karen Briere, Bob leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He cherished his niece, Jen Briere, and her spouse Doug Nolin, along with his nephews, Jon Briere and his partner Kellie Roy, and James Briere and his spouse Jenn Burgess. Bob was also deeply fond of his several great-nephews and great-niece, who held a special place in his heart. He was predeceased by his brother, Henry R. Briere.
Funeral Arrangements Announced
Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects at the Tyngsborough Funeral Home, located at 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough, on February 9, 2026, from 16:00 to 19:00. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in his honor the following day, February 10, at 10:00 at St. Michael Parish, situated at 543 Bridge Street, Lowell. Bob will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford.
