
Julie Fiesel, a cherished wife and mother, passed away peacefully at her home on September 15, 2023, after a long battle with dementia. She was 62 years old. Julie’s family, including her husband Doug Fiesel and her two sons, Chase Fiesel (Sara Tifft) of Minneapolis and Paul Fiesel (Mariah) of St. Paul, survive her, along with numerous friends and relatives.
Life and Legacy of Julie Fiesel
Born on September 6, 1960, in New Hope, Minnesota, Julie was raised in a supportive community where she graduated from Cooper High School. She furthered her education at Bethel College, where she earned a B.A. in Communications and met her future husband, Doug.
Julie spent about a decade at IBM in Chicago as a manager, where she honed her skills in leadership and communication. Her career also included significant roles in public service, notably as a congressional aide to former Congressman Gil Gutknecht. Additionally, she served as the Director of Government Affairs at the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce, leveraging her passion for politics and her talent for connecting with people.
Throughout her life, Julie was known for her strong faith, love for her family, and her ability to make friends wherever she went. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on those she encountered.
Funeral Arrangements and Community Support
A funeral service will be held at the Buffalo Covenant Church on September 25, 2023, at 11:00 AM, with visitation scheduled an hour prior to the service. The community is encouraged to join in honoring Julie’s life and legacy, reflecting on the many ways she touched the lives of those around her.
