Reality television personality Jessi DiPette, 30, from Virginia Beach, is back in the spotlight, competing in the newly released second season of Amazon Prime Video’s reality competition series, Beast Games. The first episodes of the season were made available on March 12, 2024, and DiPette is one of 200 contestants facing a series of mental and physical challenges for a grand prize of $5 million.
Competing Among Champions
DiPette first gained attention two years ago as a contestant on Netflix’s Squid Game: The Challenge. Her ambition to win reality competitions has only grown since then, with aspirations to appear on NBC’s The Traitors. Currently, she is also auditioning for an undisclosed televised vocal competition.
This season of Beast Games, hosted by celebrity YouTuber James Stephen “Jimmy” Donaldson, known as MrBeast, features contestants divided into two teams: Strong and Smart. DiPette earned her spot on Team Strong after submitting a video showcasing her gym routine, which included push-ups, sit-ups, and pull-ups.
Upon meeting her teammates, DiPette remarked, “When I got there and saw the people on the Strong team, they’re like literal Olympians, American Ninja Warriors, like people with guns,” referring to their impressive physiques. Despite feeling outmatched, she emphasized that her determination and strength have kept her in the game. “Actually, in a tiebreaker round, I ended up doing 75 push-ups for my life,” she shared.
Behind the Scenes and Future Episodes
DiPette spent 25 days filming the series during June and July of 2024. A highlight for her was being invited by MrBeast to guest emcee a significant game challenge. Although this moment did not make it into the final cut, she described the experience as “pretty cool.”
The second season of Beast Games will continue to release new episodes weekly, culminating in a season finale set for February 25, 2024. As DiPette navigates these competitive waters, her journey highlights the engaging and often unpredictable nature of reality television.
