Ubisoft has announced significant updates for its popular title, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which has recently achieved a milestone of over five million players within four months of its launch. As part of the summer update schedule, the company is introducing new features, including the highly anticipated New Game+ mode, alongside the upcoming Claws of Awaji story expansion.
Starting on July 29, 2023, players will be able to opt into New Game+, allowing them to experience the game anew after completing the main storyline. This feature resets story and objective board progression while preserving player levels, gear, skill points, and other progression elements. According to Ubisoft, “When launching New Game+, you can choose to start again from the very beginning, reliving the important events of the Tensho War in Iga – or you can fast-forward after the prologue to the moment Naoe inherits ownership of the Hideout.” The developers have also ensured that players will not encounter basic tutorials during their second playthrough.
The update will also raise the level cap from 60 to 80, introducing new Knowledge Ranks, Mastery and Knowledge Skill ranks, and upgrades for all Hideout buildings. This enhancement coincides with Project 3, which includes additional content in the works.
Community-Requested Features and Expansion Details
In response to community feedback, Ubisoft plans to roll out further updates in September 2023. These updates will address various requests from players, enhancing the overall experience.
Moreover, the Claws of Awaji story expansion is set to be released on September 16, 2023. This expansion will follow the main storyline, providing players with new quests and adventures. Notably, those who pre-ordered the base game will receive this story pack at no additional cost.
