Two new posters for the highly anticipated second season of Peacemaker have been unveiled, coinciding with the announcement of its upcoming trailer release. The new season, which stars John Cena as Christopher Smith, is set to premiere on HBO Max on August 21, 2025. Created by James Gunn, the series continues to expand the DC Universe (DCU) by featuring a notable ensemble cast.

The official HBO account on X revealed that the trailer for Peacemaker Season 2 will debut on July 26, 2025, during the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). Fans can expect the trailer to be showcased during the show’s panel at Hall H, which starts at 15:30 (PT) and lasts for one hour.

Alongside Cena, the returning cast includes Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, and Steve Agee as John Economos. Additionally, Frank Grillo will reprise his role as Rick Flag Sr., a character who first appeared in 2024’s Creature Commandos and had a minor role in 2025’s Superman. In this season, Flag Sr. seeks revenge for the death of his son, intensifying his mission to take down Peacemaker.

New cast members include Tim Meadows as an A.R.G.U.S. agent named Langston Fleury, and Michael Rooker, who will portray Red St. Wild, an expert hunter targeting Eagly. The season will also feature appearances from Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl/Kendra Saunders, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, and Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord.

The first season of Peacemaker, which premiered in January 2023, served as a spin-off from The Suicide Squad and was set within the DCEU. Gunn has assured fans that Season 2 will address the shifts in continuity from the DCEU to the evolving DCU.

As anticipation builds for the trailer release and the new season debut, fans of Peacemaker are eager to see how the series will further develop its characters and storylines within the broader DC framework.
