Kim Kardashian is entering the beverage industry with her involvement in the relaunch of the caffeine-free energy drink, Update. The product, which originally launched in 2022, has received a makeover thanks to Kardashian’s influence, and it is set to hit approximately 4,000 Walmart stores across the United States starting on March 1, 2024.

Kardashian joined the Update team after she became a fan of the drink in 2023. Initially, she provided “unsolicited advice” about the product before officially collaborating with the brand. As part of her contributions, Kardashian helped redesign the packaging, shifting it from a “masculine” aesthetic to a more “calm” appearance. She also played a key role in reformulating the drink’s taste to better align with consumer preferences.

The energy in Update comes from paraxanthine, a compound that the body produces from caffeine, rather than caffeine itself. According to Forbes, this approach aims to eliminate the common side effects associated with traditional energy drinks, such as jitters and crashes.

Exciting Flavors and Future Plans

The relaunch will feature five flavors: berry, grape, peach, mandarin, and pineapple. Additionally, Kardashian announced that more flavors are in development. Customers can currently order a 12-pack featuring four of these flavors through Walmart.com.

In a statement to WWD, Kardashian emphasized the brand’s commitment to growth, saying, “2026 is really about expansion and evolution for us. This is only the beginning.” She expressed enthusiasm for upcoming flavors that will introduce unique options not typically found in the energy beverage market.

Kardashian, who maintains a busy schedule, highlighted her personal connection to the product. “I’m someone who moves at a really intense pace but still prioritizes focus, balance, and what I put in my body,” she said. She noted that Update aligns with her wellness philosophy, offering a more intentional approach to energy that stands out in a crowded market.

In January, Kardashian was spotted on the set of her new Netflix film, The Fifth Wheel, carrying a can of Update, showcasing the previous design. This moment underscores her genuine engagement with the product, which she described as becoming part of her routine “very naturally.”
