The Save Mart Companies, which operates 191 grocery stores under the Save Mart, Lucky, and FoodMaxx brands across California, has initiated its annual “Right By You” program. This initiative aims to provide essential support to families facing challenges due to inflation and rising food costs, particularly in communities like Solano County where the company runs two Lucky Stores in Vacaville and FoodMaxx locations in Fairfield and Vallejo.
Strongly advocating for community welfare, Jim Perkins, President of Save Mart Companies, emphasized the urgency of the program. “When families tell us they’re choosing between groceries or gas, between meat on the table or medicine in the cabinet, we can’t shrug and say ‘that’s inflation,’” Perkins stated. “That’s what ‘Right By You’ is all about—12 programs, food bank matching funds, and community investment. We’re meeting people where they are with solutions that actually help.”
Program Details and Initiatives
The “Right By You” program encompasses two core themes: Food Affordability and Food Access. These initiatives are set to continue throughout the year and beyond, with several key offerings designed to alleviate financial stress on families.
Among the affordability initiatives, customers can take advantage of a 50% Off Select Meat & Produce Event running from October 29 to November 4. The program also guarantees low pricing on Thanksgiving essentials, ensuring families can celebrate without breaking the bank. Additionally, the launch of a new private label line of 100% natural beef, poultry, and pork is aimed at providing healthier options.
A particularly noteworthy offering is the holiday meal program that supplies a complete Thanksgiving dinner for ten people at a cost of less than $6 per person. Active military service members will also receive a 10% discount on Veterans Day with valid identification.
Enhancing Food Access for Communities
The program’s food access initiatives include the “Friends Feeding Friends” campaign, which runs from November 5 to January 1, 2026. During this period, shoppers can purchase $5 or $10 pantry packs at checkout to support local food banks, with all donations remaining within the community.
Furthermore, Save Mart Companies has partnered with DoorDash to implement an Emergency Food Response Program. This program provides free delivery and waived service fees for recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Enhanced digital coupons will also be available throughout November, offering deeper discounts on select items.
To facilitate convenience, the company will offer free home delivery of grocery items purchased directly from its e-commerce platforms through the end of 2025, with a minimum spend requirement of $35. Customers will also have access to a “Buy Now, Pay Later” option at checkout via third-party providers, subject to credit approval.
Community engagement remains a priority, with numerous events planned in partnership with local organizations, including sponsorships, parades, and charitable activations during November and December.
