Pier 57 in Manhattan has welcomed two new dining destinations, ofCorsica and Miru, as part of its ongoing culinary expansion. Founded by City Winery’s Michael Dorf, these restaurants aim to offer diverse dining experiences that reflect global influences while providing stunning views of the Hudson River.

ofCorsica: Mediterranean Flavors at Waterfront Level

Located on the ground floor, ofCorsica showcases Mediterranean cuisine with a focus on seasonal ingredients and vibrant coastal flavors. Under the guidance of Executive Chef Andrew Minitelli, known for his work at IRIS and Osteria Morini, the restaurant features straightforward preparations that highlight the essence of coastal cooking. Notably, ofCorsica boasts the largest collection of Corsican wines in the United States, appealing to wine enthusiasts seeking unique selections.

The dining space is designed with arched ceilings and an open layout, allowing for panoramic views of the river. This setting is both inviting and elevated, perfect for those looking to enjoy a relaxed meal while soaking in the atmosphere.

Miru: A Japanese Listening Lounge Experience

On the upper level, Miru offers a different ambiance, drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese listening lounges. This unique concept features a curated selection of vinyl records alongside a focused menu crafted by Executive Chef Rick Horiike, who has experience at renowned establishments like Nobu 57 and Morimoto. The menu includes hand-crafted sushi, shareable plates, and an extensive sake program.

Miru’s plush interiors and intimate rooftop setting create an ideal environment for both early evening gatherings and vibrant nightlife, making it a versatile choice for diners. The restaurant’s atmosphere shifts with the evening, encouraging guests to linger and enjoy the ambiance, enhanced by a live DJ who elevates the energy as night falls.

“New York is a city of discovery, and I wanted these spaces to feel like discoveries too—hidden gems at the edge of the pier where the Hudson meets the skyline,” Dorf stated. He emphasized his hope that guests would feel transported by the flavors and sounds of these distinct culinary experiences.

Noreen Doyle, Executive Director of the Hudson River Park Trust, highlighted the significance of these openings, stating that they provide visitors with even more ways to enjoy this historic location.
