A new four-story extended stay hotel, the StudioRes by Marriott, is set to be developed in Hesperia, California. The proposed hotel will feature 124 rooms and is located on a vacant 2.36-acre lot on Mariposa Road, approximately 500 feet south of Main Street. This site is strategically positioned near the Interstate 15 and Main Street interchange, nestled between the existing Courtyard by Marriott and Texas Roadhouse.
At a recent Development Review Committee meeting, city officials reviewed project SPR24-00019, submitted by WS California Developer LLC. According to Kelly Brady, the City of Hesperia’s Public Relations Analyst, the StudioRes brand, launched by Marriott International in 2023, aims to cater to travelers seeking extended stays. Each room is equipped with essential kitchen appliances, including a small stove, refrigerator, and microwave, along with a sink. Guests will also enjoy access to a fitness center, guest laundry facilities, a lobby area, and vending machines.
The first StudioRes property opened in Fort Myers, Florida on June 2, 2025, marking Marriott’s entry into the midscale extended stay market. The company plans to launch over 40 additional locations by the end of 2027. These hotels are designed for guests staying 20 nights or more, accommodating those on long-term business, relocation, or project assignments. Each room features a studio-style layout with a lounge area, fostering a comfortable and functional environment for extended stays.
Development Details and Local Impact
The Hesperia project is expected to follow the established StudioRes model, with a proposed building footprint of 55,956 square feet. This development reflects a broader trend of increased investment along the I-15 corridor, particularly in the hospitality sector. With existing lodging options such as the Courtyard by Marriott already in place, the new StudioRes hotel is poised to enhance the area’s appeal to travelers.
City documents indicate that the proposal is currently under review, but no timeline for final approval or construction has been announced. The addition of the StudioRes hotel signifies a commitment to expanding local hospitality services, potentially boosting economic activity in the region.
As Hesperia continues to grow, the introduction of modern accommodation options like the StudioRes by Marriott will likely meet the needs of a diverse range of travelers, from business professionals to families seeking extended stays. The project underscores the city’s ongoing efforts to develop its commercial infrastructure and attract more visitors.
