UPDATE: AMD has just announced the release of the Radeon RX 9060 non-XT, a new entry-level GPU featuring fewer cores and lower performance than its XT counterpart. This new graphics card includes just 28 RDNA 4 compute units and is equipped with 8 GB of slower VRAM compared to the RX 9060 XT, which boasts 32 compute units.

Gamers looking to purchase the RX 9060 may face challenges, as sources indicate that AMD is not planning to sell it directly to consumers. Instead, this GPU is expected to be aimed primarily at PC builders and system integrators, limiting its availability for DIY enthusiasts.

The RX 9060 non-XT is designed with a peak single precision performance of 21.4 TFLOPs, while the RX 9060 XT offers a superior 25.6 TFLOPs. This performance drop equates to an estimated 15% decrease in GPU capabilities compared to the XT model, making it less appealing for high-demand gaming scenarios.

AMD has not provided specific clock speeds for the RX 9060, but indications suggest a boost clock of 2,990 MHz, which is lower than the 3,130 MHz of the RX 9060 XT. The memory speed also takes a hit, with the RX 9060 using 18 Gbps GDDR6 chips compared to the XT’s 20 Gbps, resulting in reduced bandwidth from 320 GB/s to 288 GB/s.

In real-world gaming scenarios, the RX 9060 is reported to deliver performance at Native 1080p Ultra Settings, achieving 108 FPS in titles like *Assassin’s Creed Mirage* and 98 FPS in *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6*. However, the 8 GB of VRAM could pose limitations, especially at higher resolutions.

As for pricing, the RX 9060 XT currently retails at $299 for the 8 GB variant, and it remains uncertain where the RX 9060 will fall in terms of cost. The exact MSRP is yet to be revealed, leaving potential buyers in suspense.

Stay tuned for more updates as AMD continues to reshape its graphics card lineup. The RX 9060’s limited availability could impact many gamers looking for affordable options in the graphics market.
