UPDATE: The Miami Marlins have officially reinstated outfielder Derek Hill from the 10-day injured list as of September 25, 2023. Hill returns to the lineup after a two-week absence due to a finger sprain he sustained during batting practice last month.

Hill, who has been batting .211 with two home runs in 33 games this season, completed a brief rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville before his return. His presence provides a much-needed boost for the Marlins as they push for a strong finish to the season.

In a flurry of roster moves today, the Marlins also designated infielder Jack Winkler for assignment and claimed outfielder Joey Wiemer off waivers from the Kansas City Royals. Wiemer, who was previously designated by the Royals, had a challenging season, hitting .182 with nine home runs and 38 RBIs for Triple-A Omaha.

These significant roster changes come as the Marlins aim to solidify their position in the playoff race. Fans are eager to see how Hill’s return and Wiemer’s addition will impact the team dynamics.

With Hill back on the field, the Marlins are poised for an exciting final stretch of the regular season, sparking hope among the fanbase. Stay tuned for further updates as the Marlins continue to navigate these critical late-season challenges.
