wireless-charging-system-revolutionizes-ebike-battery-management

A new wireless charging system is set to transform the way electric bike (eBike) riders manage their battery power. The Tiler Compact is designed to eliminate the need for heavy chargers, allowing users to recharge their eBike batteries effortlessly through the kickstand. This innovative solution is currently available for pre-order, with shipping expected to commence in March 2026.

The Tiler system has a proven track record, with previous models accounting for over 300,000 kilometers (approximately 189,500 miles) of eBike range since its initial prototype launch. The new Compact version retains the features that users appreciated in earlier iterations while offering a more compact and user-friendly design.

The system operates by attaching a robust kickstand to the eBike, which connects to a charging circuit via an adapter cable. When the battery runs low, riders can park beside a Tiler Compact charging plate on the ground. By extending the kickstand and placing the foot on the 260 x 245 x 15-mm (10.2 x 9.6 x 0.59-in) wireless charging pad, users can recharge their eBike batteries conveniently.

This 150-watt weatherproof pad can either be plugged into a wall outlet or installed directly into the floor for a neater appearance. During tests, a 36-V/500-Wh battery pack took around 3.5 hours to fully recharge. Notably, a single domestic wall outlet rated at 230 volts and 16 amps can accommodate up to 24 Tiler pads simultaneously.

The Tiler kickstand is designed to be compatible with various eBike models, and separate versions for cargo bikes, e-mopeds, and electric kick scooters are currently in development. Unlike its predecessor, the Tiler Uno, which was priced at a premium, the Compact version targets affordability, retailing at approximately €250 (around US$290).

As the demand for practical and efficient eBike solutions grows, the Tiler Compact represents a significant advancement in convenience and usability for riders. Those accustomed to carrying bulky chargers may find this wireless system particularly appealing, even if the kickstand’s size may not suit every bike aesthetic.
