Disney has announced the return of the fictional band Pink Slip, featuring Lindsay Lohan, Christina Vidal, and Haley Hudson, in the upcoming sequel, “Freakier Friday.” The film is set to release in theaters on August 8, 2024, more than two decades after the original movie captivated audiences.
As part of this revival, Pink Slip has recorded a new version of their classic song, “Take Me Away,” which was a standout track in the first film. This updated rendition includes fresh vocals from Christina Vidal, who reprises her role as Maddie. The film picks up years after the events of the original, where Tess, played by Jamie Lee Curtis, and Anna, portrayed by Lindsay Lohan, faced their identity challenges. Now, Anna is navigating life as a mother to her daughter, played by Julia Butters, while also preparing to welcome a soon-to-be stepdaughter, played by Sophia Hammons. The story promises to explore the complexities of blending two families, as Tess and Anna discover that their past experiences may again shape their futures.
