trump-backs-bondi-amid-criticism-over-epstein-memo-release

President Donald Trump expressed strong support for Pam Bondi, the Attorney General of Florida, following backlash from some of his supporters over the release of a memo related to accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump described Bondi’s performance as “FANTASTIC” and criticized those attacking her.

In his message, Trump stated, “What’s going on with my ‘boys’ and, in some cases, ‘gals?’ They’re all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a FANTASTIC JOB!” He emphasized unity within his base, declaring, “We’re on one Team, MAGA,” and expressed discontent with the criticism aimed at Bondi, linking it to broader political attacks.

The controversy stems from a memo released this week by the FBI, which concluded that there is no evidence Epstein maintained a “client list” or that he was murdered. This release has sparked significant backlash, particularly from right-wing figures such as activist Laura Loomer, who has called for Bondi’s removal from office.

According to reports from CNN, Dan Bongino, the Deputy FBI Director, is contemplating resignation due to the escalating conflict between the FBI and the Department of Justice related to the memo’s implications. Trump dismissed questions regarding the Epstein investigation during a press briefing, stating, “I can’t believe you’re asking a question on Epstein at a time like this.”

In his follow-up post, Trump criticized the ongoing focus on Epstein, remarking, “For years, it’s Epstein, over and over again.” He also accused several political figures, including former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, of being responsible for what he referred to as the “Epstein Files.” He questioned why, if the files contained damaging information, they had not been utilized against the MAGA movement.

Trump urged Kash Patel, the FBI Director, to redirect his focus towards issues he deemed more pressing, such as alleged voter fraud and political corruption. He stated, “Kash Patel, and the FBI, must be focused on investigating Voter Fraud, Political Corruption, ActBlue, The Rigged and Stolen Election of 2020.”

In his closing remarks, Trump reiterated his support for Bondi, insisting, “LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB — SHE’S GREAT!” He ultimately dismissed Epstein as irrelevant, stating, “somebody that nobody cares about.”

This unfolding situation highlights the internal tensions within the Republican base, particularly as it relates to the handling of high-profile investigations and the political ramifications that follow. The fallout from the Epstein case continues to resonate, impacting various figures within the party and raising questions about the direction of Trump’s administration.
