The Longhorns (16-9, 7-5 SEC) pulled away decisively in the second half, showcasing their offensive prowess. Swain’s dominance was complemented by Matas Vokietaitis, who recorded 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Jordan Pope, who added 15 points with 12 coming after halftime.
The game’s turning point occurred with 14:39 left when Nicholas Randall’s put-back dunk tied the game at 41-all. Shortly after, Tramon Mark executed a critical three-point play, giving Texas a lead they would not relinquish. Pope’s timely three-pointer extended the advantage to six points, fueling an intense offensive burst from the Longhorns.
Texas capitalized on their free-throw shooting, hitting an impressive 21 of 23 attempts (91%), while Missouri struggled at the line, converting only 68% (26 of 38). The Longhorns also dominated in the paint, outscoring the Tigers 40-28, despite Missouri’s prior success in this area, where they averaged a 10.4-point advantage over conference opponents.
