Authorities in Pennsylvania are investigating the death of a life-sentence inmate at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill. On January 25, 2026, prison officials reported that James Campbell, aged 46, was found unresponsive in his cell. Immediate life-saving measures were initiated by the prison staff until medical personnel arrived on the scene.

According to SCI Camp Hill Superintendent Lindsy Kendall, emergency medical services from Lower Allen responded shortly thereafter.
