Grove City College

Bradley J. Lingo has officially begun his tenure as the new president of Grove City College, aiming to provide students with a high-quality education grounded in Christian values. Lingo, a graduate of the college himself, expressed a profound commitment to fostering an environment where students can receive the same transformative education he experienced during his time there.

During his four years at Grove City, Lingo cultivated an appreciation for the principles of Western civilization, emphasizing the importance of recognizing what is good, true, and beautiful. He highlighted the significant role mentors and friendships played in shaping his faith and academic journey. Following his time at Grove City, Lingo went on to earn a degree from Harvard Law School and achieve notable success in both legal and academic fields.

Vision for Grove City College

Lingo’s vision for the college is clear: he aims to establish it as the premier Christian institution in the United States. He stated, “Fidelity to our mission is not just our sacred responsibility – it’s also the magnet that will draw outstanding students and scholars to Grove City.” He emphasized the importance of creating a community where students feel known, loved, and mentored.

His approach is rooted in a “discipleship-based” model of higher education, which he refined during his previous role as dean of Regent University’s law school. Under his leadership, Regent Law achieved record enrollment numbers, improved academic metrics, and enhanced employment outcomes for graduates. Lingo believes that when educators commit to genuinely knowing and caring for students, positive results naturally follow.

A Strong Background in Law and Education

Lingo’s appointment as the college’s 10th president came after a comprehensive nationwide search, which concluded in March 2025. According to Edward D. Breen, chair of the college’s Board of Trustees, Lingo brings “a vibrant commitment to Christian orthodoxy” alongside extensive professional experience and a deep understanding of the challenges facing higher education today.

Graduating summa cum laude from Grove City College with a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics in 2000, Lingo further distinguished himself at Harvard Law School, where he served as executive editor of The Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy. Prior to joining the faculty at Regent University in 2019, he was a litigation partner at King & Spalding LLP and practiced at Gibson Dunn in Washington, D.C. His legal work has focused on constitutional law and religious liberty, advocating on behalf of various organizations, including Campus Crusade for Christ and Young Life.

Grove City College, established in 1876, is known for its commitment to providing a distinctive Christian liberal arts education. The college offers over 60 undergraduate and graduate programs on its residential campus, situated 180 acres north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It does not accept federal funding, adhering to its principles of independence and conservative values.

Recognized by U.S. News & World Report and The Princeton Review as one of the top colleges in the nation, Grove City College remains dedicated to developing leaders who are not only academically proficient but also principled and purpose-driven. Lingo’s leadership marks a new chapter for the college as it seeks to inspire and prepare students for impactful lives and careers.
