The Valley City Area High School Democrats of America (HSDA) will hold its inaugural meeting on January 23, 2024, at 5 p.m. in the Norway Room of the student center at Valley City State University. This meeting marks a significant step in establishing the local chapter, focusing on how students can engage in policy discussions and community betterment initiatives.
During the first gathering, attendees will explore the objectives and operations of the HSDA, discussing ways to enhance civic engagement among high school students. The meeting is open to students from surrounding areas who lack a local chapter, encouraging participation from anyone interested in political activism, campaign support, or social media engagement.
Carter Hass, a senior at Valley City High School and the founder of this chapter, emphasized the importance of creating a platform for Generation Z to express their concerns and advocate for solutions. “Our generation needs serious unity, and this is the best way to unite,” Hass stated. He believes that the HSDA can provide a meaningful avenue for students to engage in peaceful civic change.
The chapter aims to serve the next generation and is open to students of all political backgrounds. “It is truly a blessing to be a part of the HSDA and make our young voices heard,” Hass added. He highlighted the role of political organizing as a form of patriotism that can foster unity and civic responsibility among youth.
