Timothy Busfield, the 68-year-old actor renowned for his role as Danny Concannon on the acclaimed television series *The West Wing*, has been charged with serious allegations of child sexual abuse. The Albuquerque Police Department issued an arrest warrant detailing two counts of criminal sexual contact with minors and one count of child abuse, stemming from incidents involving 11-year-old twin boys.

The investigation commenced on November 1, 2024, after a doctor at the University of New Mexico Hospital alerted authorities about suspected sexual abuse. According to the warrant obtained by reputable sources, the victims’ parents reported that their sons, who were child actors, met Busfield while working on the Fox series *The Cleaning Lady*, where he held the position of director. The warrant alleges that Busfield developed a close relationship with the boys during this time.

The document reveals that the boys referred to Busfield as “Uncle Tim,” which raised concerns for their parents. Following discussions regarding prior allegations against Busfield related to inappropriate behavior with women and minors, the boys’ mother inquired if they had ever been touched inappropriately. The twins reportedly responded, “You mean like Uncle Tim?” This prompted legal counsel to advise the family to seek professional help, where experts suggested that the boys may have been groomed.

Initially, the children did not disclose any explicit sexual contact but claimed that Busfield would tickle them, which, according to the warrant, did not meet the legal threshold for immediate action at that time. However, on October 3, 2025, the mother filed a police report with Child Protective Services, stating that her children disclosed instances of sexual abuse by Busfield from November 2022 until Spring 2024. One child reportedly informed his counselor about inappropriate touching, leading to a diagnosis of moderate post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety.

The allegations detail instances where one boy expressed fear of reporting the incidents, stating that he was afraid of Busfield’s reaction due to his position as director. The warrant mentions that parents had previously been provided with iPads to monitor their children while filming, but this practice ceased after Busfield joined the production.

Busfield allegedly claimed to police that the parents were upset about their sons being replaced with a younger actor. He acknowledged in an interview that he was aware of the complaints but suggested that the mother sought revenge. When questioned about touching the boys, Busfield stated it was “highly likely” he may have engaged in playful behavior but insisted that such interactions were always in the company of others and were not inappropriate.

The investigation further revealed allegations from a production assistant who noted that one of the alleged victims was often unsupervised on set. An officer involved in the case stated that evidence suggested Busfield had opportunities to be alone with the boys. The internal investigation by Warner Bros. indicated that a witness claimed to have seen Busfield kiss a minor on the face while the child was in a hair and makeup chair in December 2024.

The warrant includes unsettling language from the officer, who described how individuals in trusted roles, like producers, often exploit their positions to groom children. The investigation aims to untangle the complex web of trust and manipulation that can facilitate such abuse.

In addition to the current charges, Busfield has faced previous sexual assault allegations dating back to 1994. As of now, Timothy Busfield has not publicly addressed the charges against him. The legal proceedings are set to unfold, with significant implications for all parties involved.
