URGENT UPDATE: Police in Hialeah, Florida are urgently seeking the public’s help following a shocking incident captured on surveillance video that may depict the abduction of a woman in broad daylight. The alarming event unfolded at approximately 6:45 a.m. on January 1, 2023, just outside the Lake Condominium apartment building located near West 27th Avenue and 52nd Street.
Authorities report that a concerned citizen promptly called 911 after witnessing what appeared to be an abduction. Subsequent review of the surveillance footage confirmed the witness’s account, intensifying the urgency of the situation.
The footage shows a man dressed entirely in black near a distinctive white Ford F-150. A woman, seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and khaki sweatpants, is depicted in a still image seemingly being forced into the truck. This vehicle is described as a modified Platinum Edition model with notable black rims, making it easily identifiable.
Police have stated that they believe the incident was not random, indicating that the man and woman involved are likely acquainted. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall. The woman is a white female with long black hair, last seen in a gray sweatshirt, khaki sweatpants, and black sandals.
As of Thursday, no missing persons report matching the woman’s description has been filed, complicating the investigation further, according to authorities. Brian Sanz, the 27-year-old son of the building manager, expressed shock, stating, “I do not recognize the people in the surveillance photos. This is a chill neighborhood where nothing like this ever happens.”
Residents are rattled by the incident. One local recalled hearing distressing screams that morning, saying, “I heard two or three screams and could hear her say ‘no.’ This place has been really quiet for years, and I was scared. I couldn’t go back to sleep.”
Another resident, identified as the woman’s partner, emphasized the unsettling nature of the event, stating, “These are not the sort of things we are used to seeing in this community. Someone should be held responsible for this.”
Police have classified the incident as “suspicious” and reiterated their primary concern for the woman’s safety. “Our detectives are working diligently to locate her as quickly as possible to verify her safety,” officials stated. They are urging anyone with information about the individuals or the vehicle to step forward.
