UPDATE: Three suspects have been arrested following a shocking robbery scheme at Bally’s Rhode Island Casino early today. Authorities report that the incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m., raising immediate concerns about safety for casino patrons during late-night hours.

According to the Lincoln Police, the scheme targeted a male visitor who was lured from the gaming floor by two women into a hotel room. What started as a seemingly harmless encounter quickly escalated into a terrifying ordeal when a third suspect emerged, brandishing a knife and demanding the victim’s cash.

The victim was coerced into surrendering more than $1,500 before being threatened not to contact law enforcement. Fortunately, he managed to escape unharmed and promptly reported the robbery, allowing police to launch a swift investigation using surveillance footage and witness testimony.

Police arrested D.S.S., a 28-year-old from Worcester, who allegedly wielded the knife. He faces serious charges including first-degree robbery, conspiracy, and carrying a prohibited weapon. The two women involved, identified as N.A.M. and T.T.W., both aged 19 and from Marlborough and Boston respectively, are also charged with first-degree robbery and conspiracy.

Investigators believe the trio acted in concert, exploiting the environment of cash and alcohol to isolate their victim. Police have not yet confirmed if the suspects had prior connections to the victim or if similar tactics have been employed in previous incidents.

The alarming nature of this robbery echoes a previous case in November in Ridgefield, Washington, where a robbery attempt escalated into a homicide after a victim was drugged. This incident underlines the potential danger that exists, especially in casino settings where late-night activity can attract criminal behavior.

Fortunately, the close relationship between casinos and law enforcement, combined with advanced surveillance systems, played a critical role in the rapid response to this crime. All three suspects are expected to appear in Rhode Island court soon as the investigation continues. Authorities are exploring whether additional charges or related incidents may surface.

This case serves as a stark reminder for casino patrons to remain vigilant, particularly when approached by strangers in secluded areas. The urgency of this situation cannot be overstated as it highlights the risks associated with late-night activities in casino environments. Stay alert, and report any suspicious behavior immediately.
