barton-county-offers-10-new-year-s-eve-taxi-service-for-2023

URGENT UPDATE: Barton County residents have an exciting opportunity this New Year’s Eve to ensure a safe ride home for just $10. The New Year’s Eve Taxi service will be operational from 6 p.m. on December 31 until 3 a.m. on January 1, providing rides anywhere in Barton County for a minimum donation of $10 per person.

Residents looking to avoid the risks of drunk driving can secure their ride by calling 620-639-TAXI (620-639-8294). This essential service is a collaboration between the Great Bend Police Department and Eagle Radio, ensuring that an off-duty GBPD officer will be behind the wheel.

Officials emphasize that this service is specifically designed to help party-goers return home safely, not to transport them to other parties or bars. The initiative is also a charitable effort, with proceeds going directly to the GBPD’s Shop with a Cop program, enhancing community relations and supporting local families.

In a generous move, Eagle Radio has announced that it will match donations up to $500, amplifying the impact of this service. The New Year’s Eve Taxi is proudly sponsored by Nex-Tech Wireless, which is providing the necessary phones for the service, alongside Miller Plastics, Z’s Liquor, and Z’s Liquor Mart. Additional supporters include Haz-Mat Response, Rosencrantz Bemis Water Well Company, and Freedom Claims Management.

This year’s New Year’s Eve Taxi not only provides a vital transportation solution but also fosters community spirit and safety. Don’t miss the chance to celebrate responsibly and ensure a safe journey home.

For those celebrating, remember: your ride is just a call away!
