DC is hosting a free marathon of its animated series, Creature Commandos, on YouTube to celebrate the show’s first anniversary. This event will stream all seven episodes, allowing fans to revisit the series that launched DC’s Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters. The marathon will take place on December 22 from 13:00 to 19:00 and on December 23 from 15:00 to 21:00, exclusively on DC’s YouTube channel.

Since its debut on December 5, 2024, Creature Commandos has garnered significant acclaim, achieving a 95% critics’ score and a 78% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. The series follows a team of monsters, including a werewolf, vampire, and gorgon, who are assembled by Amanda Waller to undertake high-risk missions for the U.S. government’s Task Force M. The show has not only captivated audiences but also set the stage for the ambitious plans of James Gunn and Peter Safran to revitalize the DC Universe.

The marathon is particularly timely for fans eager to understand the foundations of this new era in the DC Universe, which aims to connect films, television, and gaming. Following the initial announcement in 2023, ten projects were unveiled as part of this chapter. So far, only Creature Commandos and Superman have been released, with a new Supergirl film scheduled for next year and a movie centered on the Batman villain Clayface in development.

While Waller is still progressing through development stages, other projects such as Lanterns are slated for a 2026 release. Notably, The Brave and The Bold, which was intended to reintroduce Batman, has been postponed, shifting focus to The Batman: Part 2 directed by Matt Reeves.

In addition to expanding the narratives within the DC Universe, Gunn has confirmed that Creature Commandos will return for a second season, although a release date has yet to be announced. Following the success of Superman, plans for two additional Superman-based projects are underway. One, titled Man of Tomorrow, will explore a team-up between Lex Luthor and Superman, with filming set to begin next year. The other will be a spinoff television show focusing on Jimmy Olsen.

Fans can catch up on Creature Commandos on HBO Max until the marathon takes place on YouTube. The event is a celebration of the series that has not only entertained but also paved the way for an evolving cinematic universe under the stewardship of DC’s new leadership. For the latest updates on DC’s projects, audiences are encouraged to follow official channels.
