The supermarket chain Tom Thumb has launched two new stores in the Dallas area, marking a significant expansion for the brand. The first store opened in Sanger, Texas, on December 12, 2023, while the second store is set to open in Sunnyvale on December 17, 2023.

The Sanger location, situated at 1413 W Chapman Drive, spans 50,000 square feet and features a wide array of products, including over 1,000 local items. This new store incorporates a bakery, deli, meat and seafood sections, produce, and floral offerings. Additionally, it includes an in-store Starbucks coffee kiosk, a pharmacy with a drive-thru, and a convenient Drive-Up-N-Go grocery pick-up service.

“We are so excited to open this Tom Thumb for the Sanger communities,” said Bill Neve, Division President. “Tom Thumb is excited to showcase our full-service grocery store and fresh new items that customers in Sanger will love.”

The Sunnyvale store, located at 3400 N. Belt Line Rd., is slightly larger at 59,000 square feet. The store will offer similar features as its Sanger counterpart, including a bakery, deli, meat and seafood, produce, and floral sections. The Sunnyvale location will also have an in-store Starbucks that introduces mobile ordering, enhancing customer convenience.

To celebrate the Sunnyvale opening, the first 300 shoppers will receive complimentary bags of groceries, while all customers can take advantage of promotional deals and special offerings.

Both stores emphasize fresh prepared foods, with options such as in-store sushi, a full-service salad case, and a selection of over 400 cheese and charcuterie items. The bakery will serve daily baked bread, desserts, and exclusive items like Christie’s cookies and Blue Bell ice cream cakes. Customers can also find Texas-grown poinsettias and bouquets in the floral section, alongside FTD services and a balloon bar.

The meat and seafood department promises high-quality products, including USDA choice and prime beef, along with organic and grass-fed options. Seafood purchases can be steamed at no additional charge. Furthermore, the stores will feature a robust selection of beverages, offering more than 1,000 wines and 85 local Texas craft brews.

With the addition of these two locations, Tom Thumb aims to enhance its presence in the Dallas area, providing communities with tailored grocery options and a commitment to local products. As Bill Neve expressed, the company is eager to connect with the diverse customer base in Sanger and Sunnyvale, fostering a sense of community through their new offerings.
