As filming of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds approaches its conclusion, lead actor Anson Mount took a moment to send a Thanksgiving greeting to fans. The production is nearing the end, with only the sixth and final episode remaining to be filmed. The series has been renewed for a fifth season, which was confirmed by Paramount+ when season three premiered in June 2025.
The cast and crew have been working diligently throughout the fall, aiming to complete filming by December 2023. On his Instagram account, Mount shared a heartfelt message for Thanksgiving as he left his trailer to report for duty. In a light-hearted moment, he passed his co-star, Jess Bush, and exchanged a quick hug before greeting producing director Chris Fisher on set.
Unlike in previous weeks, when Mount expressed exhaustion after traveling home for the weekend, he appeared notably more refreshed in his recent video. The American cast and crew are continuing production through the Thanksgiving holiday, as Canadian Thanksgiving was celebrated in October. The series films at CBS Stages Mississauga in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Mount plans to return home to Nashville, Tennessee, for a belated Thanksgiving celebration before resuming work on Monday. At the recent Creation Entertainment’s ST: CHI – Trek to Chicago convention, co-star Christina Chong noted the bittersweet nature of nearing the end of production, saying, “We are just almost finishing. We’re about to start shooting the last episode of Strange New Worlds. How crazy is that?”
Although filming will conclude soon, fans can anticipate more content from the franchise. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season four is expected to air in 2026, followed by season five likely in 2027. With a total of 16 new episodes yet to be released, the franchise continues to thrive with its dedicated fan base.
The excitement surrounding the series remains high, as Mount and the team work to deliver compelling stories set in the beloved Star Trek universe. As they wrap up this chapter of production, fans eagerly await the next adventures of the crew from the U.S.S. Enterprise.
