Louis Edward Goldberg, a distinguished lawyer and beloved family member, passed away at the age of 89 after a courageous battle with cancer. He died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, leaving behind a rich legacy of family values and professional accomplishments.

Born in Hartford, CT to David and Paula Goldberg, Louis spent his formative years in Arizona. He was raised alongside his sister, Evelyn, in a nurturing environment that fostered his love for learning and sports. Louis later married Sheila Burd Goldberg, the love of his life, and together they moved to California, where they raised their three children.

Louis pursued higher education at Arizona State University before graduating from the University of Arizona. He furthered his studies at South Bay University School of Law, transitioning from a successful career as an engineer to a respected attorney. Louis dedicated himself to his legal practice until retiring at the age of 73, illustrating his commitment to both his profession and his clients.

Family was central to Louis’s life. He passionately supported his children, Robert Goldberg and wife Elaine, Michelle Goldberg Smith and husband Kevin, and Sheri Goldberg Frazin and husband Alvin, instilling in them strong values and the importance of perseverance. Louis took pride in his role as a grandfather to Jennifer Sher and husband Rabbi Daniel, Steven Smith and wife Kelby, Amanda Goldberg and fiancé Zach, Andrew Goldberg and wife Emily, Rachel Frazin Sofaer, and Sarah Bowens and husband Brandon. He also cherished his great-grandchildren, Levi, Sami, Lily, Rory, and Ari, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and find success.

Outside of his professional life, Louis enjoyed engaging in various activities. He was an avid sports enthusiast, particularly fond of college basketball. He also practiced karate and had a passion for exploring new dining experiences, often sharing these moments with his family.

A memorial service was held in his honor on November 16, 2025, at Hillside Memorial Park in Los Angeles, California. Friends and family gathered to celebrate his life and the indelible mark he left on those around him. Louis Goldberg will be remembered for his unwavering spirit, dedication to family, and the love he shared throughout his life.
