UPDATE: The first round of the City Section high school flag football playoffs concluded with dramatic upsets and thrilling victories. Key matchups unfolded on Wednesday, setting the stage for an exciting quarterfinal round this Friday.

In Division I, the #16 seed Venice stunned the top-ranked Jefferson with a score of 20-13. Meanwhile, #8 Carson triumphed over #9 LA Roosevelt, winning 20-7. Notable performances included #5 Franklin blanking #12 Granada Hills Kennedy 12-0 and #13 Sylmar overcoming #4 Legacy with a surprising 20-6 victory. The #3 Birmingham team also secured a solid win against #14 GALA, finishing 32-13, while #11 El Camino Real edged out #6 King/Drew 25-16.

In Division II, the top seed, #1 Sun Valley Magnet, dominated #16 Dorsey, winning 33-6. #9 South East showcased their strength with a convincing 34-12 victory over #8 Bernstein.
