Nintendo has officially launched its long-awaited Nintendo Store app for both iOS and Android devices. This new application allows fans to more easily access the eShop, expanding its availability beyond Japan to regions including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and much of Europe. The app, which follows five years after the original “My Nintendo” app debuted exclusively in Japan, provides a streamlined experience for purchasing Nintendo products.

Users can browse an extensive selection of items, including Switch 2 and Switch consoles, hardware accessories, and both physical and digital games. While the app directs users to their device’s default web browser to complete purchases, it offers a more convenient alternative to manually navigating the mobile browser storefront.

Features and Accessibility

To utilize certain features of the Nintendo Store app, users must log in with a Nintendo account and network ID. This requirement allows players to review their historical gaming activity, including which games were played, the duration of play sessions, and more. Notably, data from Switch, Switch 2, Nintendo 3DS, and Wii U consoles is accessible; however, historical data for the latter two systems is limited to activity recorded up to February 2020. Previously, this information could only be accessed through parental controls.

Additional features of the app include the option to set push notifications for items saved in a wish list when they go on sale. Users can also stay up-to-date with a news feed detailing the latest Nintendo games and events. Furthermore, the app introduces a rewards system that enables users to earn points by checking in at official Nintendo stores and events, enhancing engagement with the brand.
