Patricia “Patti” Ann Lloyd, a beloved figure in the Cape Cod community, passed away on October 31, 2025, at the age of 71. Known for her warm personality, humor, and dedication to her family and friends, Patti’s contributions to the region left a lasting impact, particularly through her role as Vice President of Sales at the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce.

Born on March 30, 1954, in Baumholder, Germany, Patti was one of four daughters of the late Jimmie L. and Ann (Demogenes) Lloyd. Growing up as a military daughter, she embraced her identity as an “Army Brat,” which shaped her adventurous spirit and strong sense of community. After her father concluded his military career, the family settled in Gloucester, Massachusetts, where Patti graduated from Gloucester High School and later earned a psychology degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Patti’s first encounter with Cape Cod in 1976 sparked a deep connection that led her to make it her permanent home in 1981. Her experience working at her family’s restaurant, Lloyd’s Restaurant, and at Jack’s Diner in Chelmsford laid the foundation for her hospitality career. Over the years, she held various positions at Dorsie’s Steak House, Botsini Corporation, and Ocean Edge Resort and Conference Center, but it was her tenure at the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce from 2000 to 2024 that truly defined her legacy.

At the Chamber, Patti became known as “The Energizer Bunny,” tirelessly promoting Cape Cod as a premier destination for meetings, events, and tourism. Her enthusiasm was infectious, drawing thousands of visitors to the area annually. “Patti had a unique ability to bring people together from all walks of life,” remarked a colleague at the Chamber. Her dedication earned her numerous awards at the local, state, and national levels, highlighting her commitment to the community.

Patti’s vibrant personality was evident in her love for bright colors, particularly pink, which became her signature style. Friends and family celebrated her life at a retirement party in November 2023, attended by over 400 people who traveled from various locations to honor her contributions to Cape Cod.

Family remained the cornerstone of Patti’s life. She treasured her relationships with her sisters, Jane Lloyd and Christina Lloyd Carey, and her beloved brother-in-law, Brian. Her four nephews, whom she adored as if they were her own children, also held a special place in her heart. She had a fondness for her pets, including her furry nephews, Jingles, Roquefort, and Finley, as well as her summer romance, Tucker.

Patti’s resilience shone through even during her battle with cancer. She maintained her zest for life, sharing laughter and love with those around her until the very end. Her passing leaves a significant void in the hearts of many, and her vibrant spirit will be missed deeply by friends and family alike.

In accordance with Patti’s wishes, there will be no formal wake. A service is scheduled for November 8, 2025, at Chapman Funeral Home, located at 58 Long Pond Drive, South Yarmouth, MA, starting at 11:00 AM, with prayers at 11:30 AM. A celebration of her life will follow at Tugboats Restaurant, 11 Arlington Street, West Yarmouth, MA. Interment will take place at Westlawn Cemetery in Lowell, MA, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Patti requested that individuals engage in acts of kindness or volunteer for a cause. Friends and family are encouraged to celebrate her memory with a toast of a hot fudge sundae, a favorite of hers. Memorial donations may be made to The Patti Lloyd Hospitality Scholarship Fund through The Cape Cod Foundation or to Tommy’s Place Foundation, Inc., both of which reflect her commitment to community and hospitality.

Patti Lloyd’s legacy will endure in the hearts of those she touched and through the continued growth of the Cape Cod community she loved so much.
