Harowitz confirmed that negotiations are underway, aiming to secure the beloved cartoons “for quite a while, likely years.” The streaming platform is also open to potentially licensing new Looney Tunes content, including the much-anticipated Coyote vs. Acme, although no discussions have been initiated yet.
While the episodes currently available on Tubi are presented in a non-chronological order with ads playing between shorts, they are restored in high definition, thanks to the work of animation historian Jerry Beck. Beck noted that his restorations make the episodes “look day-one brand new, as the Looney Tunes should.” He expressed his delight at the renewed visibility for the series, stating, “I’m kind of glad [WBD] took them off HBO Max and allowed other networks to use them so we can all see them.”
