Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson (55) celebrates after recovering a fumble in the fourth quarter of the NFL Week 9 game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Las Vegas Raiders at Paycor Stadium in downtown Cincinnati on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024. The Bengals collected their first win at home with a 41-24 victory over the Raiders.

Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson has formally requested a trade from the team, seeking a new opportunity before the NFL trade deadline on November 4, 2025. This development was reported by ESPN’s Ben Baby, who noted that Wilson has expressed dissatisfaction with his current playing time.

In his sixth season with the Bengals, Wilson has started in all seven games this year but is reportedly unhappy with the lack of involvement in the defense. Despite being a team captain, his playing time has fluctuated. In the recent game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Wilson was on the field for 47.5% of the defensive snaps, a notable increase from just 19.7% in the previous match against the Green Bay Packers.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor has focused on developing rookie linebackers Barrett Carter and Demetrius Knight Jr., leading to diminished opportunities for the 29-year-old Wilson. He currently has 41 total tackles this season, including 17 solo tackles and one fumble recovery. Notably, Wilson had recorded over 100 total tackles in each of the last four seasons, underscoring his previous contributions to the team’s defense.

Wilson is under contract for two more years, following the four-year deal worth $36 million he signed two offseasons ago. Given his experience, with 75 starts and impressive statistics that include 11 interceptions, six forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries, it remains to be seen whether there will be significant interest from other teams or if the Bengals will consider trading him.

As the trade deadline approaches, Wilson’s situation will likely be closely monitored by both fans and analysts alike. His request marks a pivotal moment in his career and could impact the Bengals’ defensive lineup moving forward.
