“SAL” and “SPL” Sign a Strategic Agreement to Enhance Air Mail Handling in The Kingdom
A strategic partnership has been established between SAL Logistics Services and Saudi Post (SPL) to improve mail handling and transportation operations throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The agreement was formalized on October 13, 2025, in Riyadh, during a signing ceremony attended by prominent leaders in the logistics and postal sectors.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Mohammed Nahhas, CEO of SAL’s Ground Handling Sector, and Mr. Khalid Ibrahim Al-Mohammed, Vice President of Processing and Outlets at SPL, in the presence of H.E. Eng. Anef bin Ahmad Abanomai, President of Saudi Post, and Mr. Omar Hariri, CEO of SAL Logistics Services.
Under this new arrangement, SAL will take on the complete responsibility for mail handling operations. This includes overseeing shipments from the moment they are received, preparing specialized mail handling units, and ensuring the secure transfer of these shipments between warehouses, postal facilities, and aircraft. The initiative is aimed at enhancing the efficiency of express mail operations and fostering greater integration between the postal and logistics sectors across the Kingdom.
Mr. Mohammed Nahhas emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, “We are proud of this partnership with Saudi Post, which aims to strengthen the integration between logistics and postal networks in the Kingdom, in line with our shared objectives to serve the national economy.” He highlighted that leveraging SAL’s expertise in ground handling and cargo management will facilitate faster, safer, and more reliable processing of postal shipments.
In his remarks, Mr. Khalid Al-Mohammed reiterated SPL’s commitment as a national operator and logistics facilitator. He explained that this agreement underscores SPL’s role in developing the postal and logistics ecosystem in the Kingdom while enhancing its collaboration with strategic partners. The extensive postal network of SPL, which spans all regions of the Kingdom, is set to adopt high standards of quality and security in mail processing, thereby accelerating distribution operations.
This strategic agreement is expected to support the burgeoning e-commerce sector in Saudi Arabia and strengthen SPL’s position as a pivotal player in the national logistics landscape. By collaborating closely, SAL and SPL aim to develop innovative logistics solutions that adhere to global standards.
Such partnerships are critical as Saudi Arabia seeks to enhance its logistics capabilities in alignment with the goals outlined in Saudi Vision 2030. This initiative aims to improve service quality, operational efficiency, and ultimately establish the Kingdom as a leading global logistics hub.
The collaboration marks a significant milestone for both organizations and reflects a broader commitment to advancing the logistics and postal services sector within the Kingdom. As the demand for efficient mail handling and logistics solutions continues to grow, partnerships like this one will be instrumental in meeting the evolving needs of businesses and consumers alike.
