The Weatherly American Legion Post 360 and its Auxiliary Unit are set to honor Veterans Day on November 11 with a series of commemorative events aimed at supporting local veterans. The observance will begin with a program at the Weatherly Area School District at 9 a.m., followed by a ceremony at the memorial monument located in front of Schwab High School on East Main and Spring Streets at 11 a.m.

This annual celebration reflects the community’s commitment to honoring those who have served in the armed forces. The ceremony will include remarks and tributes to veterans, highlighting their sacrifices and contributions to the nation.

Following the ceremony, attendees are invited to participate in the “Extravaganza of Prizes” drawing, scheduled for noon at the American Legion Post Home. This event features a variety of prizes, including gift cards, cash awards, and themed baskets, all generously donated by local businesses and members of the American Legion family.

Tickets for the drawing are priced at $5 and are available through members of the Weatherly American Legion family. Proceeds from the event will be directed towards various programs aimed at supporting veterans.

For further information or to purchase tickets, individuals can reach out to several key contacts: Judy Desrosiers, a member of Unit 360, at 570-657-5254; Georgia Farrow, also from Unit 360, at 570-427-4527; Ray Desrosiers, Jr., vice commander of Post 360, at 570-436-3509; or Paul Bray, a member of Post 360, at 570-401-1654.
