Amrit Ocean Resort is a wellness resort in Singer Island, Florida that merges Eastern principles with Western luxury.
Amrit Ocean Resort in Palm Beach County, Florida, has launched five new oceanfront dining concepts, embracing a vision of “indulgent conscious cuisine.” Under the guidance of new executive chef Craig Tooker, the resort introduces a blend of wellness-driven menus and culinary storytelling, including the first expansion of Washington D.C.’s Michelin Bib Gourmand honoree, Karma Modern Indian.
Each dining option at the resort aims to redefine the culinary experience, combining panoramic ocean views with a commitment to health and wellness. Chef Tooker, a graduate of Johnson & Wales University with over 20 years of experience in renowned kitchens, including Manhattan’s Carlyle and Ritz-Carlton, emphasizes the use of fresh, local ingredients to create flavorful dishes that promote well-being.
Distinct Culinary Experiences
Among the highlights is AYRE by Karma, which invites guests into an immersive dining experience where Ayurvedic principles meet contemporary Indian cuisine. The open kitchen design enhances the atmosphere, allowing diners to enjoy dishes like inventive lobster masala and seasonal curries. Tasting menus are available, featuring three, five, or seven courses priced at $75, $105, and $145 respectively.
Neera Barot, co-founder of Amrit Ocean Resort, stated, “At Amrit, our vision is rooted in harmony — between culture and cuisine, tradition and innovation.” This philosophy aligns with Karma Modern Indian’s dedication to wellness-centered dining, showcasing the power of Indian spices against a backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean.
The resort also features TAAZA, which draws inspiration from European beach clubs. This venue specializes in Mediterranean cuisine, offering dishes such as wood-fired whole roasted branzino and artisanal pizzas, complemented by a selection of organic wines.
Another dining option, TULĀ, will debut its reimagined menu in November, highlighting ingredient-driven dishes like diver scallops paired with carrot-ginger tapioca and Berkshire pork belly glazed with white miso. Each dish reflects a coastal sensibility, celebrating seasonal flavors alongside curated craft cocktails and biodynamic wines.
Focus on Wellness and Sustainability
The resort’s lobby bar, LALA, transforms evenings into a celebration of wellness with handcrafted cocktails and gourmet bites. Guests can enjoy remedy-inspired elixirs infused with superfood ingredients that promote vitality. Nearby, JEEVI offers a quick-service option for smoothies and snacks, catering to those seeking healthy pick-me-ups.
Amrit Ocean Resort also sets a new standard for private beach dining with its expansive 300-foot stretch of exclusive shoreline. This setting creates an ideal backdrop for intimate dinners and bespoke gatherings, enhancing the overall dining experience with culinary artistry and oceanfront serenity.
The resort’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its menus, which focus on free-from industrial seed oils and prioritize the use of wild-caught seafood and organic produce. Dr. Uma Naidoo, a Harvard-trained nutritional psychiatrist, advises the culinary team on ingredient interactions, emphasizing the importance of food for both physical and mental wellness.
Shama Barot, co-founder and chief strategist of Amrit Ocean Resort, highlighted that wellness cuisine can be both indulgent and satisfying. “Our restaurants prove that dishes this delicious are also designed to heal and elevate the body, mind, and spirit,” she stated.
Amrit Ocean Resort, meaning “elixir of life” in Sanskrit, features 155 guest rooms and suites and boasts the largest spa and wellness center in Florida, covering 103,000 square feet. The facility includes the Aayush Hydrothermal Experience and a full-service hammam, welcoming both resort guests and local residents to explore its offerings.
