Chris Brown has canceled his highly anticipated performance at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, originally scheduled for October 18, 2025. The cancellation is attributed to ongoing renovations at the venue, which would hinder the production quality of the concert. This decision comes during a remarkably successful tour, the Breezy Bowl XX, which has achieved record-breaking earnings.
Despite facing legal challenges this year, Brown’s tour has generated an impressive $241.4 million from the sale of 1.7 million tickets, as reported by Billboard. This marks the best financial performance of his career, with projections indicating he could approach nearly half a billion dollars in total career tour earnings. Analysts estimate that Brown will earn an additional $45-50 million from the remaining shows, based on a strong average of $7 million per performance in North America.
The success of the Breezy Bowl XX can be largely attributed to Brown’s choice to perform in larger venues, which has significantly increased both attendance and earnings. For comparison, his previous tour, the 11:11 Tour, grossed around $82.3 million, attracting 446,000 attendees. This represents a staggering increase of 193% in earnings and a 270% rise in ticket sales.
In August, Brown achieved a remarkable milestone by earning $96.8 million for the month, surpassing renowned artists such as Coldplay, The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, and Shakira to secure his first month atop the Top Tours chart. Previously, he had only managed to break into the top ten twice during his last tour.
While the cancellation of the Memphis show is a setback, it is a minor blemish on an otherwise stellar tour. The Oak View Group, involved in organizing the Memphis concert, confirmed the cancellation, stating, “While the renovations at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium continue as planned and on schedule, it has become clear they will also prevent the show from delivering on the exceptional production experience for fans.” Ticket refunds will be processed through Ticketmaster.
Brown’s tour is set to conclude on October 16 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. As he wraps up this tour, attention will shift to what lies ahead for the artist, who continues to redefine his career amidst challenges and triumphs.
