UPDATE: A family in Venice is demanding answers after a tragic hit-and-run claimed the life of 25-year-old Neo Moroke, a recent graduate of Cal State Northridge, early on September 20, 2023. The incident occurred around 2:00 AM at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Lincoln Boulevard, just days before what would have been Moroke’s birthday.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Moroke was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street and was left critically injured as the driver fled the scene. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Moroke’s father, Douglas Moroke, expressed his heartbreak in a recent interview. “He was my life, my hope, my inspiration,” he stated, recalling the pride he felt watching his son graduate just months earlier. “He said, ‘Hey Dad, I’ll see you later,’ and that’s the way we do it every time.” Douglas now sits nightly at a memorial outside their home, pleading for the driver to come forward.
