A significant moment for pop-punk fans has arrived as the band The Cab reunites and announces their first new music in over a decade. The group will release a four-track EP titled “Road to Reign: A Prelude” on September 26, 2024. This marks their first release since the 2014 EP “Lock Me Up” and comes more than 14 years after their last full album, “Symphony Soldier”, which debuted in 2011.

In a heartfelt message shared on their official Facebook page, The Cab expressed their excitement, stating, “We know it took awhile. But the long road led us right back to you. What was fractured can heal. What was silent can scream.” They further emphasized, “On September 26th our heart will beat again. It’s time. The prelude is here.” While the announcement has generated considerable buzz, it remains unclear whether this EP is a precursor to a full-length album.

Reunion and Tour Highlights

Earlier in the year, The Cab made their return to the spotlight with a reunion tour, performing as the opening act for All Time Low and participating in the When We Were Young Festival. The band, originally formed in Las Vegas in the 2000s, consists of lead singer Alexander DeLeon, keyboardist and guitarist Alex T. Marshall, and bassist Joey Thunder.

The Cab first gained recognition with their debut studio album, “Whisper War”, released in 2008 through Fueled by Ramen and Decaydance. That same year, they were named “The Band You Need to Know” by Alternative Press magazine. The band carved out a niche in the pop-punk genre during the MySpace and Warped Tour era, producing hits such as “One of THOSE Nights,” “Angel with a Shotgun,” “Temporary Bliss,” “Stand Up,” “La La,” and “Endlessly.”

Even today, The Cab continues to resonate with audiences, averaging nearly 1.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Lead singer DeLeon has also pursued a solo career under the name Bohnes, with his single “Middle Finger” from 2015 accumulating over 163 million streams on the platform.

As anticipation builds for their upcoming EP, fans are eager to see how The Cab will evolve their sound after years away from the studio. The reunion marks not only a return to music but also a reconnection with their loyal fan base.
