Rachel and Danny Duran have combined their individual photography backgrounds into a flourishing business, Forget Me Not Pictures, based in Fort Worth, Texas. With over 15 years of experience, the couple offers a wide range of photography and video services, including weddings, family portraits, and business promotions.

In an interview, Rachel described their journey into the photography world. Both she and Danny had separate photography businesses before their paths converged. After developing a friendship rooted in their shared passion, they married and merged their expertise to create Forget Me Not Pictures, officially forming the business as an LLC two years ago. They credit their growth to support from Braver Together, an organization that assists minority entrepreneurs.

Building a Business with Community Support

The Durans’ venture has grown significantly since they launched their new website and implemented search engine optimization strategies earlier this year. They also partnered with a video marketing team, which helped them to create targeted advertising on social media platforms like Meta. “We’ve noticed a difference in traction and have received many more bookings,” Rachel noted. They even secured a wedding inquiry for March 2026, showcasing their increasing demand.

Rachel’s love for photography began in high school, where she took her first photography class. “I fell in love with the processing part of film,” she recalled. Her first significant job came in 2011 when she photographed a local band and received $75 for her efforts. This experience solidified her passion for photography.

Danny’s journey started during his college years at Tarleton State University. Initially seeking employment, he became the campus photographer, which led to a transformative assignment capturing Buddhist monks. “That was kind of my first introduction to photography,” he explained, adding that it fueled his desire to pursue the craft professionally.

Educational Collaborations and Future Goals

Both Rachel and Danny have benefitted from academic partnerships, notably with the TCU Neeley School of Business and Texas A&M University. Their engagement with TCU involved business students who assisted in developing their first website and marketing materials, a crucial step in their business journey.

As they look to the future, the Durans are also in the early stages of launching a nonprofit initiative called Portraits with a Purpose. This program aims to provide free photography services for K-12 students from military families, celebrating their milestones. They are currently working with Texas A&M’s Legal Clinic to establish the nonprofit and file for 501(c)(3) status.

Rachel’s advice for aspiring entrepreneurs emphasizes the importance of community engagement. “Being an active part of your community is essential,” she stated. Through Braver Together, they have networked with other business owners, which has been invaluable for collaboration and support. The couple actively participates in local events and initiatives, believing that cultivating relationships within the business community is critical for success.

As Forget Me Not Pictures continues to grow, the Duran family remains committed to their craft and giving back to their community, exemplifying how passion and perseverance can lead to meaningful achievements in the entrepreneurial landscape.
